The Colleague Charity Group at Leeds Building Society raised £5,750 for Leeds based St Gemma’s Hospice last year.
This brings to £25,000 the amount donated by the mutual to the Moortown charity over the last five years, to assist them in providing the best possible care and quality of life for local people with cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
Tracie Harrison, senior fundraiser at St Gemma’s Hospice, said: “Leeds Building Society has provided incredible support over the past few years, raising a fantastic amount for patient care. The majority of our annual £9 million running costs must be raised from the local community, and we simply could not continue to provide all of our services if we did not receive wonderful support like this each year.
“Everyone at St Gemma’s would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff at Leeds Building Society for their fantastic support over the past five years.”
Karen Wint, operations director at Leeds Building Society, added: “Our charity group was launched in 2009, following consultation with colleagues across the business, so we could develop our fundraising around charities which are close to their heart.
“St Gemma’s Hospice was a popular choice, and our team has made some great efforts with their charitable fundraising for the charity over the past five years.”
