Widespread rate cuts unveiled by Barclays

Barclays has made cuts across its residential, large loan and buy-to-let product ranges. 

Key changes include the following:

  • Two-year fixed Help To Buy 1, 75% LTV reduced by 16bps to 1.49%
  • Five-year fixed buy-to-let 65% LTV reduced by 0.60bps to 2.49%
  • Two-year fixed large loan 65% LTV reduced by 0.50bps to 1.49%
  • Five-year fixed rate 80% LTV reduced by 0.80bps to 2.69%

Barclays has reduced a number of rates across the core range and Reward Range, including:

  • Two-year fixed Help to Buy 1, 75% LTV reduced by 16bps to 1.49%
  • Five-year fixed buy-to-let, 65% LTV reduced by 60bps to 2.49%, and as well as reduced fees
  • Two-year fixed large loan, 65% LTV reduced by 50bps to 1.49%

All 60% LTV buy-to-let products are now available at maximum 65% LTV (maximum loan of £1m), while all 75% LTV buy-to-let products now have a maximum loan size of £750,000 (previously £500,000).

Barclays is introducing a selection of new Large Loan products, including a two-year fixed 75% at 1.65% for loan sizes between both £1m – £3m and £3m – £5m.

The lender’s Reward Range benefits existing mortgage customers with a variety of fee and rate discounts, plus extended maximum LTVs and loan sizes.

Rate reductions include:

  • Two-year fixed, 80% LTV at 1.88% with no product fee (reduced by 21bps)
  • Two-year fixed, 65% LTV at 1.49% for loans between £1.5m – £5m (reduced by 36bps)
  • Five-year fixed, 65% LTV at 2.45% for buy-to-let customers (reduced by 39bps)

The residential and buy-to-let Reward rates are available for existing Barclays mortgage customers for rate switch (product transfer) and further advance only.

Large Loans (purchase and remortgage)

  • 1.65% two-year fixed, 75% LTV, £1,999 fee (£1m – £3m)
  • 1.65% two-year fixed, 75% LTV, £5,000 fee (£3m – £5m)
  • 2.09% two-year fixed, 85% LTV, £1,999 fee (£1m – £3m)
  • 2.15% five-year fixed, 65% LTV, £1,999 fee (£1m – £3m)
  • 2.15% five-year fixed, 65% LTV, £5,000 fee (£3m – £5m)
  • 2.49% five-year fixed, 75% LTV, £1,999 fee (£1m – £3m)
  • 2.49% five-year fixed, 75% LTV, £5,000 fee (£3m – £5m)
  • 1.69% (BBBR+1.44%) two-year tracker, 75% LTV, £1,999 fee (£1m – £3m)
  • 1.69% (BBBR+1.44%) two-year tracker, 75% LTV, £5,000 fee (£3m – £5m)
  • 2.05% (BBBR+1.80%) two-year tracker, 85% LTV, £1,999 fee (£1m – £3m)

Reward Range (Rate Switch & Further Advance)

  • 1.65% two-year fixed large loan, 85% LTV, £1,499 fee (£1.5m – £5m)
  • 2.49% five-year fixed large loan, 85% LTV, £1,499 fee (£1.5m – £5m)
  • 1.69% (BBBR+1.44%) two-year large loan tracker, 85% LTV, £1,499 fee (£1.5m – £5m)
