Zephyr Homeloans will this month host a webinar on the topic of limited companies.
The event on 24 May is for brokers involved in advising such companies, which are typically set up to purchase and manage a buy-to-let property.
Julian Sampson, partner at TWM Solicitors and head of the firm’s lending department, along with Zephyr Homeloans’ regional sales manager Andy Rowe, will discuss the laws that apply to limited companies, how they borrow money and directors’ responsibilities.
The 45-minute webinar, which will include a live Q&A, will also cover the differences between conveyancing for a buy-to-let limited company and purchasing buy-to-let property as an individual, how personal guarantees work, as well as the importance of directors and non-directors receiving independent legal advice.
Paul Fryers, managing director at Zephyr Homeloans, said: “Changes to buy-to-let tax relief in 2017 meant increasing numbers of property investors set up limited companies in order to buy a rental property.
“As a result, buy-to-let limited company applications comprise the majority of our business.

Other topics during the webinar include the importance of the latest training for legal firms on buy-to-let limited company investment, the role of limited company board minutes and how lenders assess applications from limited companies.
