The Skipton Building Society has announced the appointment of Andrew Bottomley to the board role of distribution and financial services director.
He will join the society on 1 January 2016 and his appointment has regulatory approval.
Bottomley joins the mutual from Lloyds Bank where he has was most recently mortgage and bancassurance director. He has also held a number of senior positions at Lloyds, Lloyds TSB, Bank of Scotland and Halifax.
He will lead Skipton’s branch network, customer contact centre, and distribution teams. He will also oversee group subsidiary, Skipton Financial Services.
He said: “Skipton is a very well regarded and managed business in the mutual and wider financial services sector. It’s shown real tenacity to remain financially strong despite some of the worst economic conditions our country has faced. And has done so while keeping its members central to everything it does.
“I’m very much looking forward to joining Skipton next year and playing my part in its continued success.”
“I look forward to welcoming Andrew on board,” added David Cutter, group chief executive. “He brings with him a wealth of financial services experience and I am sure he will make a solid contribution to Skipton as we continue to meet our customers’ needs and grow our business.”
