Air Sourcing contains a maximum borrowing calculator and borrowing forecast to forecast borrowing vs property value over time and any impact of payments/further drawdowns. Advise Wise does not currently feature any affordability calculation functionality.

Advise Wise offers document storage functionality, with its built-in CRM able to store all clients’ details, medical history, documents and notes.

In addition, the system saves the product search and KFI document once requested through Advise Wise. Air Sourcing does not currently offer document storage, but says it is planned for 2021.

Sourcing systems have evolved over time to cover more than just product sourcing. With brokers facing ever-increasing regulatory requirements, sourcing platforms have tended to provide functionality for compliance and audit trail purposes.

While Advise Wise does not currently offer any compliance functionality, Air Sourcing contains an integrated online compliant fact find and suitability letter. Users that complete the fact find (or just the mandatory questions in the fact find) are able to download a fully personalised client suitability report.

It also features a range of downloads to assist with compliance.

Advise Wise has a built-in customer relationship management (CRM) system, which is accessible from the adviser’s account.

Air says its system is a “CRM Lite”. Each client added comes with a client file, with all records of activity including sourcing sessions, research reports, KFI illustrations, fact find and suitability reports available. It also offers time-stamped client notes and contact history.

At present neither system has any integration with mail/calendar apps, although Air Sourcing says it plans to add diary integration “in the near future”.

Both later life lending sourcing systems offer conveyancing functionality in the form of solicitor panels. For example, Air Sourcing’s current conveyancing panel consists of Adlington Law, Ashfords and Equilaw.
